Loleatta Holloway is one of the great female soul singers and I wish this country (America) would appreciate her and others like her, more.
This country is quick to accept and rush people like Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone onto the top TV shows and television specials, but continue to ignore TRULY talented people like Loleatta, who can outsing Stone and Winehouse with her tonsils tied behind her back.
The gay population has kept Holloway alive all these years and she's grateful. America continues, however, ignoring the ORIGINATORS of soul music and giving the best opportunities to foreign, weak imitators. What a shame.
